My man of honour is my best friend Daniel. We worked together for a couple of months, not friends, just exchanged hellos and made small talk at work. Then my dad passed away and he was one of the few people at work who didn't treat me like I had the plague. He let me talk, hugged me when I cried and was there for me no matter what. I was able to return the favour a few months later when he finally, (after years of agonising over it), came out as a gay man. His family wanted nothing to do with him, he was thrown out of his family home with $10.00 in his pocket and he came and slept on my sofa for 3 months until he got himself together. He is now very successful in his chosen career , we have been friends for 7 years and he said yes straight away when I asked him to help me organise my wedding and stand next to me as my man of honour. I am getting a bit of criticism from family for my choice but there is no one else I felt I could ask. He has been there for me during the worst time in my life and now I want him to be there, standing next to me, for one of the most joyful times.

Ummm I guess I consider myself to be in a long distance relationship right now.

Me and my current boyfriend met at school in Connecticut. I graduated and moved back home to NY. The distance between us is about an hour and a half and because I have a full time job in Manhattan we only see each other on weekends, about 2 days each week.

I feel like long distance relationships are successful only if the relationship was invested in, prior to people going long distance. We dated for over a year, spending every day together, and this distance thing isnt really an issue because we already had that strong bond.

My ex-boyfriend who was a 5 hour LD relationship was the worst relationship ive ever been in. We didnt have a solid bond before going LD and we fought constantly, we barely saw each other, we ran out of things to talk about, it was just the most stressful situation ever.

If your gonna write the song I'd just come up with a chorus then take a lyric from that for the title. Even if you don't use that chorus it will give you an idea. Just do that & play around with some words.

Sorry for not giving you a straight title but I think it would be a better song if you did that.

im asuming you come from a religion where it is important for arranged marraiges?
IDK where you live but usually americans here go for the whole love thing.
but if you live some where where it is customary for arranged then i can see your frustration.
just do what you think is right. maybe the possible candidate your parents picked out wont be bad at all and maybe if you date them a little bit you may end up loving them anyways!
but I say def go for what you feel is right.
good luck!

I've got no experience of this, sorry. But I'll tell you my opinion.
People fall in and out of love. It's unpredictable. Sometimes, you realize that you never really LOVED this person, you just liked them more than others. Or, you did fall for them, but living with them, learning about every single side of that person, you can fall out of love just like that. I'm thinking she stayed together for the kids. But she probably couldn't take staying with someone she didn't love anymore.
It's not something you can prevent or something to see coming. It happens and you just have to move on.
If you want to see it coming, I think you have to notice her. See how she acts in the beginning of the relationship and see how it differs later. Maybe that's the warning sign. When you kiss her but she won't close her eyes. Sorry, but that's the best I've got.

~By all the answers, you know what the differences are.
The reason why the divorce rate is so high is because people don't take their vows seriously. Temptation is everywhere. Kids get married because their having sex younger, which makes them pregnant sooner.
An arranged marriage might work because they don't care what the other person does, no jealousy. It's more like a roommate/friendship thing.~

**Don't marry for lust. Learn the differences.
